About RE:MOBILE

RE:MOBILE is New Zealand’s only mobile phone recycling scheme which is accredited by the Ministry for the Environment.

RE:MOBILE is not for profit and is managed by the New Zealand Telecommunications Forum (TCF). The telecommunications industry is strongly committed to responsible management of e-waste.

The nationwide RE:MOBILE programme is supported by 2degrees, One New Zealand and Spark. The programme is operated by SwapKit on behalf of the TCF.

RE:MOBILE aims to:

  1. Reduce the environmental impact of unwanted mobile phones in New Zealand
  2. Increase mobile phone recycling awareness and change behaviour
  3. Increase confidence in the industry by establishing appropriate standards of practice
  4. Enable a collective industry-wide solution to the responsible management of end of life mobile handsets and accessories

For every phone recycled with RE:MOBILE, money is donated to Sustainable Coastlines.
